DeFonseka is a Chicago-based advisory that embeds inside founder-led companies as operating partner — owning financial governance, the KPIs that matter and a weekly OKR reporting cadence — and, for established companies entering complex or regulated categories, acts as a strategic market-development partner with a standing bench of investor, clinical and institutional relationships.
We sit between ownership and execution, and we carry deliverables. That means a named principal inside your operating cadence — owning the reporting rhythm, the decision thresholds, and the follow-through between meetings.
The reporting layer founders postpone: board packs and forecast discipline, the handful of KPIs that actually move the business — each with a named owner and a threshold — and a weekly OKR report that shows movement against them while there is still time to act.
Category definition, go-to-market frameworks and — the part few firms can supply — the relationships. We activate an existing network of investors, clinicians, institutional leaders and regional partners on a client's behalf, because leveraging relationships bypasses the noise and gets to decision-makers directly.
Founder-led clients need financial, technical and operational leadership before they are resourced to hire it full-time. Enterprise clients need a team whose only mandate is the new initiative — because in-house staff are optimized for the business that already exists, and a curated team carries no legacy priorities. In both cases we close the gap by joining the work, not by recommending that someone else do so.
Relationships bypass the noise. Curated teams execute new initiatives better than the staff already carrying your core numbers.
